DALLAS, Texas, April 13, 2026 /Pitchwire/ /Pitchwire/ — TrueNorth Health, a virtual-first primary care provider, today announced a partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas to offer in-network virtual primary care visits to over 6 million BCBS Texas members beginning May 1, 2026.

Under the agreement, BCBS Texas members will be able to schedule same-day virtual appointments with board-certified primary care physicians through the TrueNorth Health app, with no copay for preventive visits and standard copays for acute care.

"Access to primary care is the single biggest determinant of health outcomes, and Texas has one of the highest rates of primary care physician shortages in the country," said Dr. Amanda Foster, Chief Medical Officer at TrueNorth Health. "This partnership means millions of Texans can see a doctor within hours, not weeks."

TrueNorth Health's platform includes asynchronous messaging with care teams, prescription management, lab ordering with home collection options, and integration with over 40 electronic health record systems. The company reports an average wait time of 12 minutes for on-demand visits and a 94% patient satisfaction score.

"Virtual care is no longer a pandemic-era workaround — it's the preferred modality for a growing segment of our membership," said Karen Liu, VP of Network Strategy at BCBS Texas. "TrueNorth's clinical quality metrics and patient experience scores make them a strong addition to our network."
